Everything you need to know about WiMAX

I'm sure each manufacturer has their own level of detail and method for configuring classifiers for different SFs. What is the best way to set up classsifiers for VoIP. Can this classifier also work for video packets?

Its an IP. No one can tell you but, no, one classifier cannot be used for other

it is very simple that different vendor develop their profile by different engineers. so it will be different, I have tried by Alvarion, NAVINI, and Airspan all are different. but easy.

What level of granularity, do these units offer for classifying VoIP for UGS? Is there a commmon factor that can be used for different VoIP, e.g. protocol, TOS/Diff serv etc?

Generally speaking, the 802.16 standard defines quite exactly all the possible rules of classification relying on which convergence sublayer is using an specific service flow.

For example, to configure a SF transporting VoIP I would define an rTPS service with a guaranteed traffic rate of, let say, 64kbps if needed. I'd set an accepting classifier that, for example, matches the packets using DSCP/TOS field in the IP header.

Albentia Systems BSs allow the operator to use all the possible match criteria defined in the standard an use multiple classifiers per SF.
