Phil, I am Tariq Qureshi and was the GM-Wimax WLL Wateen Telecom.
DO give me your thoughts. At Wateen one key project to be started was e-education in coverage areas. Now there are 4 companies putting up network in Pakistan so the coverage will be adequate. Besides the commercial aspects of Boradband, I wanted to launch e-education, starting with video streaming of all lectures typically delivered by teachers in public schools. That way the knowledge would be imparted with multimedia slides and live presentations in all schools, including the madrassas so that the very poor get same level of education as the elite. And all because we could broadcasted on Wimax and DSL networks right to the class. They were to be standard 30 minute lecture with 15 minute clarification by local class teachers.
