WiMAX has become the main theme of COMPUTEX TAIPEI since 2008. The theme of the event in 2009 is WiMAX on the Move. It presents three features, Innovation, Leap, and Launch.

Clearwire Confirmed to Roll Out WiMAX in Atlanta and Las Vegas

Recently in Clearwire’s Q1 earnings call,Clearwire confirmed the next CLEAR WiMAX network cities will be Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Clearwire presumably will officially launch WiMAX service on June 1st in Atlanta as information I found on the web.

Tatung InfoComm to Start WiMAX Services in Penghu Islands,Taiwan on April 27

My last post was WiMAX in Bangladesh, now I wanna share what's going on in Taiwan.

In July 2007 Tatung InfoComm acquired the WiMAX license (2595-2625MHz frequency band) for the southern region of Taiwan.

On June 2,2008 Tatung InfoComm has selected Alcatel-Lucent to deploy a commercial WiMAX 802.16e-2005 (Rev-e) network in Penghu Islands,Taiwan.

WiMAX in Bangladesh : BanglaLion to Start WiMAX Service from 1st June

My last post was about WiMAX deployment in Philipines by Globe Telecom & Huawei. WiMAX deployment in Asia will spread to more countries. Later on people in Dhaka Bangladesh will discover WiMAX soon.

Huawei and Globe Telecom Deploy Southeast Asia’s largest 2.5GHz WiMAX in Philippines

Huawei Technologies said it has successfully deployed Southeast Asia’s largest 2.5GHz 802.16e mobile WiMAX commercial network in terms of the coverage area for Globe Telecom,the first operator in the Philippines to commercially launch WiMAX broadband services nationwide.
