i have read that, if there are 3 cells that are using same frequency(i.e cell reuse= 1) then the cell centre will be using the FUSC permutation and the cell edge will use the PUSC permutation.
now the question is:
1. Is there any algorithm for allocation of FUSC and PUSC in a cell.
2.what will be the diameter of the cell centre?
3. If there is the PUSC used at the cell edges then there will be interference, how will it be avoided.
4. how is this different from the frequency reuse 3?

Hello Suresh, I read your query on the forum, and thought to share my little knowledge that i have. Well the significance of Preamble index arises in the initial network entry stage. During the DL synchronization, the MS listens for the DL frame preambles. When one is detected, the MS can synchronize (initial synchronization includes both timing and frequency synchronization) itself with respect to the DL transmission of the BS. When the synchronization is complete, MS then listens to other control messages like FCH, DCD, UCD,UL-MAP and DL-MAP to obtain the various PHY and MAC related
parameters corresponding to the DL and UL transmissions. Preamble index points to the index of DL Frame's preamble, and from my practical experience i must tell you it varies from sector to sector for obvious reasons. I hope it addresses your concerns a little.
