Please read the following articles that provide good insights on this. Overall 3G services and devices are proving too expensive in the developing countries. Also the lower speeds they offer, make bundling WiFi a must. So device vendors who have no bundled WiFi offering will suffer poor sales.

For Mobile WiMAX advocates, this conference was mostly disappointing. No firm announcement on the long rumored tri-mode (WiMAX, 3G-EVDO, WiFi) smart phone, uncertain pricing for MIDs (see earlier wimax360 post), nothing on mobile video/Sprint TV for WiMAX, and no announcements of eReaders or cameras with embedded WiMAX interfaces.
It seems Sprint is primarilly concerned with promoting an open network and getting more smart phones from RIM and Android supporters on their mobile network. There wa…

These channel bandwidths combination are needed for a WiMax license of only 15 MHz bandwidth in developing countries.
The purpose is to use 5 MHz & 10 MHz channel bandwidths for high density users in cities, urban & sub urban areas. For rural remote areas where there are only some scattered factories/industries with very few surrounding users (villages), the…

It's all about spectrum: at the
Sprint Developers Conference in Santa Clara, CA today, Scott Richardson of Clearwire stated "spectrum trumps technology when evaluating a broadband wireless service." That was presumably to give Clearwire the edge over ATT and VZW in the race to 4G. Clearwire holds tons of 2.5GHz spectrum in the U.S. Now the FCC is urging the federal government and broadcasters to free up spectrum for broadband wireless carriers.
The WSJ reports that Federal regulators are…

I think it will take time in Bangladesh to spread wimax technology, because all telco operators already invest huge for voice data, sms, mms communication. If any company wants to switch WiMAX they have to invest again though it’s a very good technology and faster then 42 times any others technology. I think it will take time. But if wimax provider distributes bandwidth to core district of Bangladesh from now they will be benefited.
