Verizon Wireless (VZW) will introduce Long Term Evolution (LTE) service in two "pre-commercial" cities later this year before a broader deployment next year, Chief Technology Officer Dick Lynch said this week. Dailywireless has reported the results of speed tests in Portland. It looks like it does offer a significant alternative to wired providers. There is also a cost comparison available.

Due to schedule of officially launch in Portland on January 2009, now in early December,Clear (Clearwire's brand name for WiMAX service) begin to allow customer to sign in the service contract for the WiMAX network. At Clear's official website,state that Clear has Portland covered all over the town.
