Everything you need to know about WiMAX

Here at Albentia Systems, we are very proud of the first massive IO tests we have been performing this week. We have linked 27 third party CPEs to one sector of an Albentia BS working at 5.8GHz license-exempt band, and 7MHz of channel bandwidth. Spain has its first WiMAX BS.

Shabbir, tests are being performed in a real but controlled environment. We are using a small cell with radio propagation.

I'd be interested to know if this Inter operability testing is being done in the field or in the lab in a cabled environment?

If it is the former - then I would be interested to know how you will be creating a repeatable environment for each of the different vendors to ensure stable results across your supply chain?
If it is the latter - then I would be interested to know if you are using a fader between the CPE and the BTS to re-create the wireless environment?

Frits_Hass: I will collect all the data you'd like to know and probably write a public memo or so.

Jose Dorville: UGS is supported, yes (at least by the BS).

Stability, QoS and of course, throughput are important. I will like to hear the VOIP part and if you supported UGS SF, will like to hear your experience with downloading and using the VOIP part, hows the voice quality.

nice. let us know how the testing goes. what modulations schemes do you see, and what is the maximum throughput?
how big is the BTS cell range?
