Everything you need to know about WiMAX

Wimax could provide cable with bandwidth during an outage, or storm damage. Pole or ground mount radios, wimax and wifi or? would sense no RF and wimax changes it's mode of operation to that of cable provider, until RF is restored. Sending voice, data, video, Yes TV to,through the cable lines, which makes the next piece of equipment RF hot. there's a little bandwidth issue, that will be worked out in time. I've said in my last two blogs, the possibilities are endless. Cable it's your time to shine.

A little late to sell after posting to the web. Alan as no one is talking about it, does not mean it isn't being talked about, I'm simply stating all the tools are there to make cable as competitive as they can be. And if they Waite on LTE, they may never gain the traction they need to compete. Right now they can enjoy a 2 to 3 year head start. over the competition ( LTE ). Also Docis 3.0 has been made in a chip, released this month, to be integrated into devices. Docis is capable of 160mbps. With this chip the tools really are hear now. Looks to me like there wireless will out run wimax 10 to1.

Why don't you talk to folks at Comcast, TW Cable, Cox Cable, etc to see what they are really planning for broadband wireless networks? Perhaps, you can even sell them some of your ideas!

So far, there have been no public announcements of anything other then MVNO relationships (e.g. Comcast and Clearwire). That's it! While the possibilities are endless, the reality may be very different.
